A Night in Bethlehem transforms St. Luke Lutheran Church into a living Bethlehem village, inviting families to experience what life was really like on the night Jesus was born. From crafts and live animals to music and storytelling, this immersive event is designed for all ages to enjoy.
What is A Night in Bethlehem?
A Night in Bethlehem brings the story of Jesus’ birth to life in a historically inspired setting. Volunteers in costume, decorated tents, live music, and interactive activities create a magical experience for families and the community.
Highlights include:
- A live nativity scene with petting zoo animals
- Hands-on crafts for children and families
- Christmas carols and storytelling in the worship center
- Strolling the marketplace to see life in ancient Bethlehem
- Free cookies and hot cocoa for all attendees
This year marks the 19th annual A Night in Bethlehem, continuing a beloved Mesa tradition of sharing the Christmas story in a hands-on, family-friendly way.

All ages are encouraged to tour the village, meet live animals, assemble crafts, and enjoy music and refreshments. No pre-registration is required, though an optional digital save-the-date is available to add the event to your calendar.
