Kick off the new school year with St. Luke! We have a lot going on these next two weeks, and there's something for everyone! We hope you can join us!
Back to School | Aug. 3
At 8:00am & 10:30am worship during the Children's Message, students, teachers, and school staff are invited to receive gift bags and blessings to celebrate the beginning of another school year! (No backpacks required!)
At 9:30am, preschoolers-4th graders can join their new classrooms for cookies and introductions, while 5th-12th graders can head to the Fellowship room for popcorn! High schoolers will continue their study in the youth room. Middle schoolers and their parents will stay in the Fellowship room for an intro to the Confirmation school year.
At 11:45, 5th-8th graders are invited to the first middle school Plugged-In of the year as we welcome our new 5th graders! Plugged-In events are weekly, Sunday afternoon hangouts for middle school, high school, or both together! Come for food, games, friends, and sometimes cool excursions! Check the newsletter for the Plugged-In schedule.
ELEVATE PIZZA PARTY | Aug. 10
On August 10th, at 9:30am, Sunday school classes launch into their first lessons, while adult Bible studies & Breakfast with Pastor sessions continue!
After 10:30 worship, families are invited to join us at noon for a free pizza party at Elevate Trampoline Park! (Formerly, KrazyAir.) There's a designated toddler jumping area and St. Luke has a private party room for parents to hang out, chat, and watch kids blow off some energy! Skip the wait by signing waivers before you go!
New ADULT Bible Studies
BEGINNING Aug. 3 | 9:30AM
REVELATION
Vicar Ethan Berglund will be leading an 8-week study on the book of Revelation. This book is filled with mysteries about things to come and final warning of how the world will end and a glimpse of heaven and all the glories to come. Everyone is welcome to join this study as it will help us understand this last book of the Bible.
LOVE, HATE, LIGHT, & DARKNESS
Steve Hines will be leading a 10-week study based on 1st, 2nd and 3rd John. The apostle John wrote a letter to Christians; he uses the simplest of language to communicate some of the most profound theology in the Scriptures. The book communicates deep truths about God, the devil, and humanity. Plan to join this thought-provoking study.
Breakfast with Pastor
New to St. Luke? Enjoy breakfast on us! Over the course of three Sundays (August 3rd, 10th, & 17th), meet other new people, get the scoop on our church, and ask Pastor Luke any questions you want. Each breakfast is at 9:30 on Sunday in our Oasis building. Even if you're not interested in membership right now, you won't want to miss them! Because we cover different information at each breakfast, we highly encourage attending all three. But even if you can only attend one, we'd love to have you!
AUGUST Community Corner
Every month, St. Luke partners with a local non-profit to meet a need in our immediate community by hosting a "Community Corner" drive. For the month of August, we're partnering with Family Promise to fulfill some wishlist items. Family Promise helps families facing homelessness secure stable housing through safe shelter, caring connections, and building a community of support. They like to send off their "graduate" families with some basic supplies for their new home, and the following are always in high demand:
- NEW refillable water bottles for both kids & parents
- New or gently used bath towels, hand towels, & wash cloths
- All sizes and brands of kids’ Pull-Ups.
Bring in any of these items throughout August and place them in the Community Cubbies in the Worship Center lobby!
