CoronaVirus Update

MArch 27th

The latest info on our developing plans, including weekend worship, Bible studies, and communication schedules can be found in the video below.  Please note that some of our youth Sunday classes will be meeting at different than normal times.  Please also read below the video for a list of community needs we are trying to address.

Here are some community needs we are trying to address through our partnerships with Operation Big Serve and Family Promise:

MOST IMPORTANT:  Any and all non-perishable food items, as Operation Big Serve provides food boxes to anyone in need on a daily basis (Seniors, Veterans, Homeless, Low Income) and their pantry is almost bare.

Non-Perishables include:

-Canned vegetables, fruit, soup and protein (tuna, spam, etc.)

-Boxed or packaged potatoes, rice, pasta, etc.

-Peanut butter, flour, sugar, vegetable oil, cereal, condiments and all other staples.

Other Critical Needs include:

Gallon and quart-size zip-lock freezer bags

Sealable food containers (These do not need to be new, just clean and in good condition)

Plastic Grocery Bags

Paper Products, especially toilet paper and paper towels

Hygiene Items (all varieties and sizes)

Twin size sheets and towels (These do not need to be new, just clean and in good condition.)

VOLUNTEERS NEEEDED

Operation Big Serve needs volunteers to help in St. Luke’s kitchen.  In addition to local Veteran’s and Seniors and low-income families, OBS has also recently partnered to assist our large and local Native American community.  They are offering fresh meals for these groups/families on a weekly basis. They will be utilizing our kitchen to prepare and re-package fresh meals for distribution.  If you are available and willing to help, contact MJ for more details.  We anticipate this will be 1-2 mornings per week for a couple hours.

Our community is hungry.  We are looking for every opportunity to help.  You can drop off all donations outside of the administration office during regular business hours and we’ll make sure they get to Operation Big Serve or Family Promise.  If you would prefer to donate monetarily, you can do that online and note that your donation is a specific use donation for Operation Big Serve.  Gift cards to local grocery stores are also appreciated and you can place them in the mailbox just outside of the administration door and let Dorel know so that she can retrieve them immediately.  Or, if you have no way to get items to the church, let us know and we will arrange a pick up.

Thank you for your continued partnership in our ministry at St. Luke’s.
